Assess-Us
In principle, the Performance Review process is simple and straightforward, comprising the following phases:
- Kick-Off;
- Survey;
- Feedback.
Kick-Off
The Review Process is outlined to the Chair and/or the Chief Executive, or their nominee(s), their questions answered and agreement reached on the scope of the Review.
This phase also provides the organisation with the opportunity to review the standard Assess-Us questions with the view to ensuring that their content, terminology and phraseology is appropriate. Additional questions, whether or not specific to the organisation, are formulated at this time for inclusion in the Review.
Upon sign off by both parties on the content of the questionnaires, the organisation nominating their respondents and an agreed process for reporting the findings, the Survey Instruments are published to the Web and the respondents advised.
Survey
Respondents log on to their Review Instruments using their personalised usernames and passwords. Typically, respondents are given a timeframe of the order of 3 weeks to complete their responses.
Feedback
Once the responses have been analysed and collated, which usually takes the order of one week, arrangements are typically made to report the findings first to the Chairperson or their nominee and then to the Board in an open feedback session that does not include peer review findings.
Whilst the above is the normal process for advising the Board and individual board members (peer reviews) of the Review’s findings, it is the prerogative of the Chairperson to choose the feedback process(es) and forum(s).
